The laser eye surgery procedure will be fully explained to you - in plain English - by either our clinic staff or your local management centre optometrist, with whom you will have plenty of time to ask all of your questions. If you wish to proceed, an appointment will be made to assess your suitability for treatment at which you will undergo an extensive session of diagnostic tests. Our expert staff will then discuss the test results with you.
The treatment itself takes place at the Advance VisionCare Clinic in Harley Street, although, as with the initial assessment, aftercare may be carried out locally with one of our highly experienced and skilled optometrist partners. The surgeon employs modern technology in a series of state-of-the-art tests that establish the suitability of your eyes for treatment.
Orbscan II Corneal Contour Mapping
The Orbscan anterior segment analysis system measures the shape of the cornea. It is vital to check whether your cornea is thick enough for Zyoptix.
ZywaveT Abberations Mapping
ZywaveT aberrometer wavefront technology takes detailed measurements of your eyes' optics
General Vision Test
To ensure your prescription is suitable for treatment, your vision will be re-tested. People with large pupils who have had laser eye surgery at other clinics often complain of haloes and glare. The surgeon will determine if your pupils are the right size and fall into defined parameters to prevent this from occurring.
Biomicroscope Eye Examination
You will be tested to see if your eyes are healthy. This will include measuring your intraocular pressure and examining your corneas and retinas. Your surgeon will also ask you and/or your GP about your general health, as certain conditions may prevent laser treatment.
