Question by Rachel Shepherd
I am absolutly teriffied of the dentist and going to hospital but woul love to have my eyes treated is there any way i could be sidated or calmed. Also how long would it take and is there anything from stoppinh my head moving if I panic and want to move my head. Sorry for being such a baby.
Answer by Mr C T Pillai
Laser refractive surgery is an simple and effective procedure which takes less than 15 minutes per eye from start to finish. We offer a valium to any patient who would like it to help settle the nerves. Your head is not stopped from moving and if you move your eye during surgery then the laser will cut out instantly. The eye tracker checks the position of your eye every 6.6 milliseconds and will adjust for small movements and will cut out completely if you move your eye or head more. These concerns are very normal before the treatment and we explain everything in great detail at the assessment so you understand what happens and we talk you through all stages of the procedure so you always are aware what is happening.
